Keeping it Friendly
With the majority of their league fixtures now completed, many Crediton Youth FC sides are now arranging friendly fixtures to make up for the lack of fixtures caused by the pandemic.
The U14’s had a 3-2 home win over Exmouth Town. Goal scorers were Henry Brazier-Armin, Evan Williams and Christian Woodley.
Midweek saw the U13’s host Dawlish United. An entertaining game looked to be set for a 3-3 draw until Dawlish were victorious with the final kick of the game. All the Crediton goals were long range efforts, with Jack Brimilcombe getting two, and Alex Dredge the other. They then followed that up with a very tough away friendly against Alphington and came away with a very credible 3-0 defeat.
The U11 Cobras were victorious in their midweek friendly against Copplestone Eagles.
Continuing their progression to 9v9 football prior to next season the U10’s played out a 3-3 draw against Alphington. Daniel Cavanagh, Ethan Moore, and Hayden Richardson were on target for home side.
This time it was the turn of the U9’s to host a round robin tournament, with visiting sides from Lydford, North Tawton and West Hill.
Sunday saw the U7’s make the long journey to Holsworthy. Despite the rain and strong winds, they had a very enjoyable and rewarding morning, returning with just one defeat between the sides.
Congratulations must go to the U16 girls who despite having a depleted squad, were determined to fulfil their fixture against Plymouth Aspire. Aspire side had racked up 34 goals without reply in their previous two outings. After a very spirited performance the Credy girls kept the score down to 8-0.
