Long Service Award - Simon and Karen Stevens
Crediton Youth FC recently made a presentation to Simon and Karen Stevens to mark their long service to the club.
All three of their children played youth football at the club and Simon and Karen became actively involved in the club and had been long standing committee members.
Over the years they have both taken on many various roles within the club.
Karen held the positions of Child Welfare Officer and Social Secretary for many years. Karen also for many seasons, very efficiently ran the catering tent at the annual summer tournament, which is one of the clubs major sources of income.
Simon took over the running of a side, which their eldest son Luke helped to coach. He soon embarked on many coaching courses and became a very accomplished coach. In their final season the side Simon coached, were crowned league champions. Simon for many years was the club’s Kit & Equipment Officer and was also Referee’s Officer for the annual tournament.
On presenting their award club Chairman Adrain Harvey said that Simon and Karen were another great couple who had made an amazing contribution to the club and had helped to put the club in the great position it is in today.
