Weekend Round Up - 18/19 December

This weekend saw the final fixtures of the year for Crediton Youth FC sides before the traditional two week Christmas shut down. Although many feel the break may be a little longer this time!

The U16’s hosted Sidmouth Town, and another strong performance from them saw a 3-1 victory. Although it took a late Finn Warren penalty to seal the result after earlier goals from Josh Conway and Sam Easton.

There was little Christmas cheer, for the U13’s visitors Colyton. They went home from Lords Meadow on the wrong end of a 11-0 scoreline. Rhys Ebdy with six, and doubles from Ollie Baker and Zach Mildon and a goal from Harry Norman completed the Crediton scoring.

On the road, the U15’s came away from Alphington with a 2-0 victory. Despite struggling to acclimatise to the artificial pitch at the Exwick Hub, goals from Owen Jones and Ryan Sandland saw them pick up three points, to see them top the league going into the New Year.

The U8’s had two games away at West Exe. Goals from Dexter Hughes, Hugh Swain and Oscar Wilk saw them draw one game three apiece, and despite a Harry Bishop hatrick, they were edged out of the other.

Sunday saw the U9 girls entertain Cullompton. Their coaches were again impressed by their development, but they had to settle for two narrow defeats. Their goal scorers on the day were Amelia May, Merryn Eartherley and Sabene Roth.
